That Damn Michael Che Season 2 - Episode 1

On July 14, 2020, HBO Max gave the then-untitled project a series order consisting of 6 half-hour episodes. The series is created by Michael Che, who also executive produces alongside Lorne Michaels and Erin Doyle.[2] Che, speaking about the project, said: "I'm really excited to be working on this show with HBO Max. It's a project I've been thinking about for a while and we have a lot of sketches we want to shoot so please wear your masks so that we can go into production." On April 19, 2021, it was announced that the series was to be titled That Damn Michael Che and would premiere on May 6, 2021.[3] On July 22, 2021, HBO Max renewed the series for a second season.[4]

The six episodes of season 1 run about 20-25 minutes long and are an easy watch. That Damn Michael Che is a traditional sketch comedy show with some twists. The episodes consist of individual sketches, but there is an underlying theme to each. For example, one episode focuses on Che being dumped by his girlfriend. Skits interject the primary sketch of the episode Michael Che and his soon-to-be ex-girlfriend breaking up in a restaurant.

As I mentioned in my previous review of PAUSE with Sam Jay, another HBO production, Ibram X. Kendi proclaimed in Time Magazine that we are experiencing a Black renaissance. This revival is saving space for women and queer people in a way never done before. That Damn Michael Che is testament to how HBO has been providing a platform for the new Black vanguard of T.V. Already, we are seeing a plethora of Black perspectives highlighted by big networks. Instead of just Black characters, or staff, or audience, we are finally witnessing the development of Black perspectives through the voices of Black writers over several seasons. Michael Che contributes to this revival through his candid portrayal of the hangups of masculinity. As a cisgendered Black man, who blasts his own perspective online, I hope that Michael Che will manage to participate in this renaissance in dialogue with women and queer people rather than in opposition to them.

From Emmy-nominated comedian Michael Che's distinct perspective comes a groundbreaking sketch comedy series that illustrates what it feels like to experience various everyday situations. With Che interweaving candid reflections throughout, each episode features comedy legends and rising stars alike in sharp, original vignettes that center around a particular theme or incident. Tackling the uncomfortable truths behind provocative and timely topics such as race, cancel culture, and reproductive rights, this is as thought-provoking as it is laugh-out-loud funny.

That Damn Michael Che Season 2 will premiere on Thursday, May 26, 2022, and you will be able to see it on the HBO Max streaming service. This season will have six episodes, which will become available on the platform simultaneously on the series premiere day, usually sometime after midnight PT (03:01 am ET).

Parents need to know that That Damn Michael Che is a sketch comedy show created by and featuring comedian Michael Che and guest stars actors, singers, and Saturday Night Live colleagues. Each episode offers up dark humor and social commentary on themes such as racism in policing, love and relationships, and coronavirus-vaccine skepticism. Minimal violence is played for satire and is not graphic or scary, for instance, a man who gets shot and doesn't want an ambulance called because of financial concerns. Sexual content is also not graphic, save for when a character masturbates (obvious but covered); expect references to sex or masturbation, wanting sex, not having sex, and objectifying women. Regular, though not gratuitous, swearing includes several uses each of "damn," "ass," "s--t," "a--hole," and "f--k"; other language includes "ho" and the "N" word. The show's mature content makes it best suited for older teens and adults who are fans of Michael Che or thought-provoking comedy.

Comedy sketch show THAT DAMN MICHAEL CHE has six short episodes of satirical skits, faux commercials, and personal commentary from Michael Che. Guest stars including Cecily Strong, Colin Jost, Omari Hardwick, Godfrey, Billy Porter, and Method Man populate the sketches. Each episode covers a main theme and several related topics (for example, the episode on love and relationships is also about toxic masculinity). Che, alone on screen, shares thoughts and experiences related to the episode's focus before and between sketches. Some sketches cover semi-autobiographical elements, including how Che's brother became a cop and the oppressive sexism of his childhood that made it hard for him to connect meaningfully with women. Others offer up social commentary on issues like performative White allyship, inequities in healthcare, and police killings of unarmed Black people. The show grapples with big issues but also has a lighter thread in which the viewer looks on as Che reckons with his semi-famous status.

This intriguing show is less laugh-out-loud comedy, more laugh-through-tears satire, and it can be an uneven ride. With caustic humor and an intelligent eye, That Damn Michael Che explores modern American issues through Che's particular Black, male, straight American perspective. The six episodes borrow structure from Che's day job, Saturday Night Live (sketches, faux commercials), but his sharing personal reflections and stories give the show a surprising and welcome intimacy. Some of the not-to-be-missed sketches include the parody commercial for the "Protest" FitBit, with an "ally alert" that reminds White people to apologize to a person of color, and the "Quick and Easy Things You Can Do to Not Get Shot by Police" PSA.

Fans of the comedian Michael Che can not wait for his new series titled That Damn Michael Che to air on the streaming platform HBO Max. The show is supposed to drop out soon, and this is what gives all the fans that chill we desperately needed. The show is going to be an American sketch comedy that focuses on Micahel Che who has himself created all the episodes. There surely are going to be other cast members, too, and we have wrapped their information later in this article. All this while, you guys should know that each episode of the series is going to follow a unique theme. This could be any situation or accident, and it is going to make an impact on the entire cast as well as the audience. The incident could be anything such ad a police brutality situation or even the fact that most people are unemployed after the pandemic or maybe even getting to fall in love.

That Damn Michael Che release date is on the 6th of May 2021 on HBO Max. The first time that we heard about this series was on the 14th of July 2020, when this series was ordered by the platform to have six episodes where each will be of 30 minute duration. Lorne Michaels, as well as Erin Doyle, executively produce this show along with Michael Che who surprisingly has done an excellent job in being the all-around developer of his show. After putting in loads and loads of hard work, we understand how Che was pretty excited about working on this, and he expressed it while speaking about the project. He says nothing makes him more anticipated than working with HBO Max on this project.

There's a new BBC series Traces arriving on Stan (the entire first season ready to stream), and this being another week, it means another Drag Race, this time Drag Race Philippines (new episodes coming weekly). There is also the new Mark Strong British series Temple, the complete first season is available to stream right now.

Coming from the streets of New York, excelling as a stand-up in some of the grittiest clubs across the country and developing a language that is both funny and suitable for network television, has made Che a uniquely necessary voice for exploring the issues through the lens of humor. I talked to Che on "Salon Talks" about the complexities of landing sensitive jokes today and why he decided to tackle these and other untouchable topics on his show. Watch my "Salon Talks" episode with Michael Che here or read a Q&A of our conversation below to hear more about his future at "SNL" and why he will never stop doing stand-up.

You have one episode where you get all of your ex-girlfriends in the same room. I just want to say as a consumer, I was triggered. It was the first time in my life I ever felt triggered. I have never used that word. It's the first time. I thought about all the crazy women I dated popping up over my place.

Behind your comedy there are really important topics there. In the first episode, you create a subway incident where a man needs help, the kind of thing that everyone's quick to record on their phone, something or everybody's quick to put their two cents in. What are some of the other themes that viewers can look forward to? 041b061a72
