Before a teen applies for a credit card, they should take the time to improve their financial literacy by learning about credit, debt, loans, and savings. We encourage parents to teach their teens about managing money. This way, teens can learn how to save and manage their savings accounts and credit cards before entering adult life.

At Emery Federal Credit Union, we help teens become financially responsible by giving them a place to save money. Our Banzai Teen and Banzai Plus online courses help teens become financially savvy and ready for the future.

A checking account can help teens learn to manage money with support from parents and educational programs from financial institutions. Teens will learn to manage their bank accounts, maintain financial integrity, and avoid making financial mistakes.

Close friends and family of the late Senator Ed Emery, who respect his life greatly, want to create a lasting impact to honor his legacy. For young people in the state of Missouri desiring to serve in government, friends of Senator Emery feel that a memorial scholarship is the best way to honor his memory. The Senator Emery Memorial Scholarship will provide the funds for a selected teen from Missouri to attend a TeenPact State Class or a TeenPact Alumni Event. Please continue reading for more information, and see below for the link to the application.

According to a survey conducted by The Palette Fund, True Colors Fund and the Williams Institute, about 40% of youth experiencing homelessness identify as LGBT. One-in-four homeless LGBT teens are kicked out of their homes by their own families. And while queer teen homelessness is a much larger issue than any one organization can solve, HMI is doing their best to provide resources to queer kids who find themselves without shelter. 041b061a72
